Lobbying Disclosure Act

Lobbying Disclosure Act

Congress has adopted its own definition of lobbying and reporting requirements for registered lobbyists.  Unfortunately, these rules differ from the IRS rules.  In addition, some states have different definitions and rules as well.  CLPI believes that it would be more efficient and effective for nonprofits and all levels of government to "harmonize"  lobbying and election-related rules to the greatest extent possible and in a manner most conducive to charitable civic engagement.
