CLPI 10th Anniversary

In 2008, CLPI celebrated ten years of promoting, support and protecting nonprofit advocacy and lobbying. Over the past ten years, CLPI has grown from a project of Independent Sector to an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to encouraging nonprofits to use advocacy to meet their missions.

CLPI has reached thousands of individuals and organizations during this time by providing training and resources on public policy engagement and working to protect and expand nonprofit advocacy rights. In celebration of CLPI's ten year history, we hosted a reception on June 3, 2008, to honor Bob Smucker and Audrey Alvarado, two significant champions of democracy (click here to see photos from the reception).

On September 23, 2008, CLPI hosted a luncheon to honor CLPI's founding Board Chair and a long-time sector champion, Thomas A. Troyer, Esq. These events were made possible by our 10th Anniversary Title Sponsor, Caplin & Drysdale.  Please view the program from the Tenth Anniversary Luncheon and our Ten-year History Book.
